OK so your business has a comprehensive Disaster Recovery Plan in place.  So you're good - right?  Well - not exactly.  A plan is a great first step but unless you test it on periodic basis to insure it works for your firm then how do you really know you are prepared.  Some companies have an annual test, others test every six months or quarter.  Depending on your firm's exposure and risk tolerance any of these periods may be appropriate.  Also DR Tests rarely entirely succeed or entirely fail.  Generally major segments come off beautifully while other segments get lost in the weeds.
