We like to define a Mini-Portal as an off-site, remote hosted secure environment for our clients to access. We can set up a portal with multiple levels of secure access so that company administrators can access and update all while company employees get more secure access (perhaps read only) to documents, information, etc. Portals are generally used to store Business Continuity Plans, Disaster Recovery Plans, other important company documents, perhaps a call tree listing or employee directory, etc. We also have set up portals where companies can download their data archive on a periodic basis to augment thier current backup strategy with an off-site, online backup. Companies find this type of service more cost effective than utilizing a local service that may come and get your backup tapes on a periodic basis.
Finally, depending on your needs our mini-portals can also offer you access to other programs, such as our employee communication program, giving you a seamless entry point into multiple products to support your company in the event of a crisis. Depending on how your own infrastructure is set up, and if your applications are being hosted remotely we can even arrange for customized access to these systems from your portal. The fact that all of these services and documents are hosted remotely, and are accessible via a web interface can allow you to get to this information quickly and easilly.
