Over the last few years many companies have been embarrassed to find out that their company data was made public when a laptop computer was stolen, etc. Statistics state that 1 in 10 laptop computers have been stolen in the last year. With approximately 40% of the work force utilizing a laptop, notebook, of PC tablet computer there is a greater need to insure that data on laptops is protected. Zombie Data is putting together a package of products to perform the following:
- Encrypt the HD on the Laptop
- Backup the data on the Laptop to a secure Online Repository
- Provide a LoJack type service when the laptop is connected to the web
- If desired, send a command to erase the HD automatically when connected to the web
- Provide an admin function to see when various laptops were last backed up, which users have turned off desired features, etc.
