Welcome to Zombie Data!!!
Quick FAQ about Zombie Data:
Why the name Zombie Data? Although the topic of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery is a serious one, the founding members had a slightly warped sense of humor and wanted to have some fun with the company name, logo, teamware, conference give-aways, etc.
Does my small business/organization really need to think about Business Continuity like a Fortune 500 company? Maybe not to the same depth but a disaster that takes a company off-line and out of their offices for a couple days may be an inconvience to a large firm but to a small firm it can be a death sentance. Your organization should figure out in advance how they are going to communicate and operate if a disaster were to strike.
What constitutes a disaster? Fire, Electrical outage, Floods, Hurricanes, Tornados, Earthquakes all constitute potential disasters. In today's world civil unrest and terrorist attacks also need to be considered. Basically anything that can knock your business out of operation for more than 24 hours should be considered. An evaluation process should be performed to determine the likelihood and severity of each potential risk.
